The notorious @KimDotcom predicts that the price of Bitcoin will reach $2,000 after his company, Mega, releases its new micro-transaction “Bitcache” service. Bitcache marries MegaUpload and Bitcoin, enabling users to earn a small fraction of a Bitcoin for every download through the new Mega.

Dotcom, who was born Kim Schmitz, founded the defunct file storage site MegaUpload. In 2013, authorities raided his New Zealand mansion in connection with charges brought by the U.S. Department of Justice arising from alleged criminal copyright infringement. Dotcom has been an outspoken critic of the New Zealand authorities and is currently fighting extradition to the United States.

Bitcoin was trading at over $650 in July, but a recent hack of popular exchange Bitfinex caused the price to briefly tumble to $465 before recovering to about $596 as of the publishing of this post.
